Look who's walking!

Greyson at the Beach!

This had to be one of my most enjoyable weekends with Greyson. I took him to the beach with Kelly, Braxton and Brayden. I try to stretch all my weekends out and take in as much as I can because these moments are precious and my time spent with him. His personality is so cute right now and he's becoming a real character. He is just on the verge of walking so of course he's bumped his head a couple of times in the process. I started this trick with him now so he won't cry. Whenever he runs into something, I touch the wall, the floor (whatever it may be) and say "bad, bad". So now he's touches everything he runs into and says in his cutest little voice "bad bad!" including our dog Jack! Not sure that was one of my better educational tools. I love this picture of him at the Beach....typical boy, give him mud and water and he's good to go!

Greyson Turns 1 year old!

I can't believe that my sweet baby is 1 year old! I am trying to capture every moment, every new word, every new face that he makes so I don't miss anything. We were up north the entire week following the 4th of July and I had so much fun with him swimming and just enjoying the Summer...and taking in a lot of Greyson's "firsts". His first time in a pool, first time eating cake & ice cream and his first time meeting a Disney character. I hope you enjoy these photos of his "firsts" as much as Greyson did!

One Amazing Dad! Happy Father's Day Darin!

Darin never ceases to amaze me! While I was pregnant with Greyson I tried to imagine what kind of mother I would be, as well as how Darin would adjust to being a daddy. I never imagined he would become as wonderful as he is. Don't get me wrong, I knew he would love our baby boy but I've seen some dads that are a little more "hands-off" for lack of a better term and thought maybe he would fall into that category of never changing diapers or feeding him...boy was I ever wrong! Darin and Greyson became best friends from the day he was born. I can remember watching the video of him touching Greyson's tiny hand in the recovery room calling him his little buddy and when I couldn't really move much after my c-section, he stepped right in to change his first diapers. It was so sweet to watch and it only gets sweeter with everyday they spend together. I have many moments as I leave for work in the morning and Darin is feeding Greyson and talking to him that I wish I could stay home. Greyson will wave to me now and reach for me when I'm trying to walk out the door and it gets harder and harder to go! Knowing he is with Darin and seeing how great he is with him makes it a little easier. He has his ways of rocking him to sleep to the sound of the sports channel or feeding him a bottle with one hand and driving with the other (I don't wanna know)....but he has his ways and they work. Rather than try to change them, I love him for it and more importantly Greyson loves him for it! He has become an amazing dad, who loves Greyson with all his heart.

Cherish every moment...

This was such a great weekend with my baby boy! When I think back at where I was this time last year, it's hard to believe we have come so far. It's amazing the changes that can take place in your life in less than a year's time. I remember feeling as big as a house last june with swollen feet anxiously awaiting Greyson's arrival and getting ready to move out of our apartment and into our first home....wow we had a lot going on to say the least. I have so many funny memories of Darin putting 2 chairs in front of a wall that needed painted. One for me to sit on and one for me to prop my feet up. I have never seen him work so hard and fast to get our house ready with only a few weeks to spare and all I could do was walk around slowly pointing out the spots he missed (boy did I time that right)!

Now with Greyson's birthday right around the corner, I am realizing more than ever to cherish every moment and everyday I have with him because time goes by too quickly. Everytime he says mamma, every slobbery kiss he plants on my face and every little giggle or belly laugh he makes grabs my heart and reminds me how sweet it is to be his mommy!

My 1st Mother's Day . . .

With Darin's crazy work schedule, it's not as often as I'd like that we can all go to church together as a family. This was a special day and I love when we can be together! Nothing compares to seeing Greyson bobbing his head up and down to the music. I sing to him quite a bit at home without giving it much thought but now he recognizes my voice in church. From the platform, I can see his little mouth whispering mamma and it melts my heart. This past Sunday was my first mother's day and it was perfect. I cannot describe the happiness and pride I felt to be Greyson's mommy....and so thankful to God for this miraculous gift!
